Great tips! I am trying to break myself of this habit right now, and it is just so hard.

Me, too! I started eating fast in nursing school because we only had like 10 minutes to scarf our lunch down every day and it just stuck with me. We can be at a family reunion or something and I finish before most sit down to eat. It's a habit I need to fix NOW. Eating fast is so painful with the sleeve. sad.gif

I ate too fast yesterday at lunch and supper and was horribly sick afterward. The pain in my chest and hot flashes was unbearable. After about an hour it went away. It sure is a learning pattern that I have not perfected yet. My head says EAT. My stomach says No Way!

Whoa no, you will not want to eat like that with the sleeve! Fortunately for me I learned to slow it down when I was banded, I'd be sliming and PB'ing at every meal. It hurts and its gross!!

I haven't really had any problems with my sleeve, thank goodness. I get pains sometimes but I stop immediately. It does teach you to follow the rules.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
