When I watch anything with food, it causes my head hunger to go crazy. Hopefully this will go away when I get to eat real food again!

I have that same problem right now. I start craving things I never even used to eat, like hot wings (why?!!!).... but I am not really eating real food yet either (still on mushies).

My aversion to cooking shows cleared up around months 3-4. I get uncomfortable thinking about all the food Adam Richmond is slamming down his throat on Man Vs food though. Heck I was watching Anthony Bordain on No Reservations and he was just eating "normal man sized" portions and I got off track thinking it was a good thing I didn't have a job as a food show host or I would surely offend some great chefs by leaving my plate full.

If there were a way to just get certain channels and not have to buy all of them, I would get cable when I return to the States.

For some reason the food Porn (aka Food Network) soothes my head hunger. Maybe it soothes the subconcious anxiety that worried I wouldn't be able to participate in beautiful food again. I am just as satisfied by watching the Food Porn as I would be by eating. Diner Drive-Ins & Dives is my favorite, Giada of course is wonderful, and I was bummed to hear that my favorite cake show Ace of Cakes was cancelled. I don't care for all the gimmicky shows and competitions (except for Iron chef) or Paula Dean. Oh I almost forgot the best for creativity and thinking - Good Eats!!

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
