questions 3 days post op

Recommended Posts

Hi All, So I am 3 days post op probably doing better then I think. Anyway between the Isopure Water and maybe one Jello and one popsicle I am getting maybe 200 calories and am getting maybe 1 liter a day. I am dragging and headachy which I imagine is normal? Am I on course? Should I be worried?

Thanks

Nancy

try to sip Water in between Isopure. Isopure has 40 grams of Protein so are you drinking a bottle of it?

I am 7 days post op and prior to surgery I could drink a clear Isopure no problem, the taste was ok, after surgery I can't stand them and I have like 30 in my pantry. They seem to coat my mouth and tongue, I have given up on them, Tomorrow I am going to try a non clear Protein Shake, hopefully I can take that down better.

I have read of others that have been constipated, but I am on the same side of the fence as you lunarose, I imagine once we start in on something other then liquids things will turn around.

Sounds like you are right on track for 3 days out. Your ability to eat will increase gradually over the weeks. Just focus on getting your fluids in. Don't get dehydrated!!!

The headachmay be because you are dehydrating your self or could be more like a carb or caffeen withdrawel. As for the diarraha its like they say liquid in Liquid out it should get better when you hit puree mushy stage but because of that much more important to be sipping Water all day long I know easier said then done

Yes, diarrhea is normal.liquids in,liquids out.

things will improve when you move to soft foods, and may even go the other direction when you move to solid food.

Thanks guys. The support here is so great. Headaches are better today so maybe it is a withdrawel thing I was a major diet coke drinker before surgery. My lower back kind of hurts but I think it may be because I haven't been exactly moving normally(G)

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
