Recommended Posts

Hey there my friends!

I would use some of your help. Its 3.5 weeks since my operation and 3th day since I experience a strange stomach and abdomen pain everytime i eat or drink something. Its not a terrible pain but not pleasant and constant.

I got scared and called my surgeon and he said everything was ok and I only have to eat slower. Is strange couse I didnt have this pain before and now when Im supposed to feel better it came up.

Could you tell me if some of you had this too and if its not a reason to be worried.

Thank u very much!

I had discomfort when I first started moving from liquids. I think part of it was having to learn to eat slower and to chew my food better before swallowing.

I too had this pain. It is just part of the healing process. If you progress to another level of post op eating and have any problems, just go back to the stage you are trying to progress out of for a few more days. We all heal at different rates and this pain is just your body's way of letting you know it isn't ready to "progress" on to the next level.

Take care, relax, and enjoy the ride!!! You will do great.

BTW, welcome to the loosers bench!!! Best wishes to you:thumbup1:.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
