I have had a rash on my stomach and under my breast on and off since surgery. At first, they thought it was because I was allergic to something from the hospital...had a bad reaction to the antibiotic and some of the pain killers. The rash on my stomach went away finally after weeks on benadryl. I had surgery in June, over 7 weeks ago, and still have a rash under my breast. It is kinda like a heat rash but not really. I have put benadryl on it, and hydrocortisone cream. I have tried everything, and the dr doesn't seem too concerned about it. I am going crazy! It itches and burns! Has anyone else had this happen?

I feel like I'm driving the dr office crazy cause I've called several times. I don't want to seem too needy. I asked about it at my last appointment, and the dr said not to go to my regular doctor cause he would likely give me a steroid which would impede my healing. I'm freaked out though cause it isn't going away. It gets a little better, and then gets worse than before. It is about the size of a tennis ball or fist. (Not raised, just around). HELP!!

Go to your PCP... when you go remind him/her that you just had surgery. They should have other options that will help out. Topical or oral that you can take. Sorry you are itching..

I had the same problem after I had a surgery a few years ago. They never really figured out what it was, I hate going to the doctor, so I just treat it with Triple Bond Medicated powder and keep that area REALLY dry. Good luck!

I too the day after surgery contracted a small itchy rash and can't seem to find anything that will make it go away, I am going to see my PCP next week to see whats up with my skin. Ill let you know what I find out.

Gold bond ultimate healing powder. The heat and moisture under your breast is just irritating it. The benadryl is only going to help the symptoms, and not resolve the issue.

If you had steri-strips or tape, you could be allergic to the adhesive that is used on those type of things. It could also be the scrubbing solution dried your skin, and the cortisone cream is not helping in that department.

After showers, use your blow dryer if it is a cool setting to dry your skin thoroughly, and then apply a liberal amount of the Gold Bond powder.

GB powder rocks. My husband uses it when he is overseas, my kiddo uses it in the summer, and I used it when I had a reaction (just like what you are describing) after my surgery from all the glue and tape they used on me.

I've had a bad reaction to the Lovenox injections. Red, swollen, itchy spots about 2 inches around the injection spots. They are still bothering me and and I am 2 weeks out. I just keep using hydrocortizone and benedryl... it is the worst part of this surgery for me.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
