Well I did it! I stepped on the scale today and it was NOT GOOD NEWS! BUT the good news is I STEPPED ON THE SCALE! I don't care what anyone says but I HAVE TO weigh in daily to keep myself on track. I hadn't weighed in 3 weeks!!! I did start counting points today, and I did well! I just found out my pre op appointment is 8/18/10 and I hope to lose at least 10 lbs by then! Thank you all!

The premier Protein shakes from costco are actually really good. I am getting a little tired of them being on day 4 of the liquid diet but.,... if you take them and put them in the blender with some crushed ice and a little sugar free Torani Syrup they are like a chocolate shake. :( heheh

Hang in there guys!! I keep reminding myself if all the people on this forum can do it, I can to!! :) This week has really shown me how much of things I really need. I will never look at food the same way again.

Hey--reality check! After your stomach heals, you can still eat what you like, just in small amounts--no food funerals are needed. Kick yourself in the butt and decide you're going to get serious about this surgery. Have two low carb, high Protein Shakes a day, a salad with homemade dressing for snack, a dinner of 4-6 oz lean meat and a non-starchy vegetable, and 64 oz of Water a day. that's what I'm doing, I'm not hungry, and I've lost 11 pounds so far. See my blog for how I got through it. You can do this!

For me personally, it's not about thinking that I can't touch "bad" foods again (I've concluded from multiple posts on here that you can still have whatever you want after a few months, just in small quantities). It's more about being able, for the first time in my life, to eat what I want and as much as I want of it without worrying about the consequences and feeling like a failure. I don't have a scale here, but I'm sure I've put on 2-3 lbs in the last 2 weeks, but I just revel in the ability to have a dessert with every dinner, have a peach or strawberry pop without agonizing over the 160 calories, etc. 4 more weeks!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
