I just weighed myself today. I am in ONEderland! 199 to be exact! Never would I have imagined being under 200 again. Without this surgery I would not be!

My husband even says that since the surgery I have been a happier person, have more confidence and even laugh more than I did before. It is getting easier to play tennis, bending down and picking things up, more or less all the little things that seemed a chore.

Who would have thought that I would be down 32 pounds since May 14th! What were the odds that we would have met Jean and Robert while on vacation in Jamaica (on our last night there no less) and learn about VSG. If it wasn't for Jean, I'd still be gaining weight and be miserable. Thanks Jean and Robert! I think someone from above sent me 2 angels that night! ;)

I've been there and am looking forward to being there again. I remember feeling like I'd NEVER get below 200lbs with a long plateau. Congrats, girl. That's the BOMB!!! :)

I think what you have lost so far is great! For a while I kept going 200..201..202..201..200..then finally 199 and now 197. I think I can finally say I won't hit 200 again! You will get under 200, (if you aren't already there since your comment) Keep me posted! We're both doing great!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
