Congratulations!! If you or anyone is wanting to do a long walk there is the Camino de santiago in Spain. Its 780 Km. You can choose how many Km's you walk a day and you stay at Alberges (hostels ) along the way. I hear it is amazing and you experience a wonderful culture. Its something to work towards if it interests you.

Wow that sounds amazing. I love to travel. How interesting that would be. I have a lot of pennies to save before I can do another international trip though :drool5: And Italy is going to be first!! But Spain is one of our top places. Thanks for mentioning this and i will certainly keep it in mind!

It is amazing around there.... we know 4 people who have done it, and its easy walk, plus the terrain isn't flat by a long shot. We travelled up that way 2 yrs ago and its such a beautiful area, although 2 of our friends are doing it as we speak and its been raining almost the whole time, unusual for this time of year for them.

You must do at least the last 100km walking to get your certificate, but other than that can choose if you want to go any further.

Those that we know who have done it have described it as a life changing event.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
