Liquid Morph+ - any thoughts?

Recommended Posts

Got these at GNC - it is 45g of Protein in a 3.1 oz container that looks like a big test tube. I tried the fruit punch flavor - it's almost cough syrup-like in its sweetness and consistency. It's a lot easier (and faster) to get down than a bottle of Isopure, though. My two worries are that it contains 8g of carbs (5g from "sugar alcohol") and a blend of protein. I was told to try for 100% whey protein if possible. Anyone have any thoughts on this? Thanks.

I had my sleeve the same day as you. I ordered a few of them and I don't think they are in any way "ideal" but at this point I really want to get as much Protein as I can since protein is the way bodies heal and I feel super weak still.

Hi Wannalise! Congratulations - I hope you're doing well. It's great to find someone on the same timing as me. Sorry to hear that you're still feeling weak. I still tire easier than usual but otherwise am feeling pretty good. I did a 1.5 mile walk today. I guess I'm pretty lucky with my recovery.

I'm going to try the orange flavor of liquid Morph tomorrow - only 30g of Protein in that one though.

There is another kind of these out there called Nu Whey that are 100% whey. They are 3.4oz, have 42g Protein, around 190 calories, and 0 carbs. I got mine at GNC, but you can get them cheaper on the internet. I have the fruit punch flavor, and they are barely drinkable, but I think it's the only way I'm going to meet the protein requirement at this point (4 days out). They taste like super thick, sweet, salty Gatorade.

I stopped looking for things with the highest Protein content and instead started looking for things that I could mix into anything. The reason being is that I KEEP hearing that your stomach will only absorb about 20 gr of protein in on sitting. Id like to be able to mix protein in my iced tea and throw some raspberry sf Syrup in it, or something of that nature. you know so no matter what I am taking in I can put protein in it so I am safe.

My doc mentioned that you can put the liquid morph in a punch and its easier to tolerate. He also suggested tasteless whey that you can add to anything over the day so that you can fit in the Protein. Plus you can do soy milk, muscle milk lite, Naked juice with protein (high in carbs tho).

I used the New Whey Protein Shots with my band because the other options just didn't settle with me. Even the New Whey is a collagenic whey Protein so it's not the same as other whey protein options out there, and while it is not the best protein available, my nut said some protein is better than none. I diluted them in 8oz of the sugar free Gatorade or Crystal light with my band surgery. As for after the sleeve, I could not tolerate them at all regardless of how I drank them. I hurled every time, and they were way too sweettart tasting for me.

Yeah there were a few of us after this post who posted elsewhere about getting what felt like hot flashes and violent nausea, I am super not a fan! I have tons of em in and on my fridge though. If you want em let me know and I'll send them your way.

Still purging all of the larger clothing. This morning, a shirt that I ADORED wearing ended up on top. Hard to let it go, but it was also hard to let go of those habits that also no longer serve my highest good. Onward and upward!

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!
