When can I drink water?

Recommended Posts

Okay, thats not actually what I mean. When can I take a really delicious satisfying drink of Water and not have to wait another 20-30 minutes for my next drink? Just wondering.

Thanks,

Anna

Hey girlie! Glad to see that you are feeling better. I am 2.5 weeks out and just now able to take a couple of satsfying gulps. Thought I would only be able to sip forever.

Yay! Yeah, I've been surprised, but thats been the most upsetting part to me. I haven't eaten in a week and generally thats okay, but would kill for a GIANT drink of water!

Thanks all

Anna

Anna, I promise it will be soon. You were a little slower starting out of the gate with the fluids. On Day 5 I was getting 64oz a day which meant drinking constantly. You'll have your satisfying gulps before you know it.

Congrats on making it this far. I'm really glad to read that you're doing ok.

Anna,

I loved popcicles at that stage! Was easier than ice cubes/chips and really helped with the thirst issue. I am drinking decently now, if fact there are times I have to remind myself that I can't drink the entire glass at once : )

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
