Wow, I hope you are getting to feel a little better. I had an abcess on or near one of my tonsils, and they put me under anesthesia to drain it. They wouldn't take my poor swollen tonsils at the same time though. I haven't really had much of a problem with them since then, so I still have them.

*hugs*

went and saw the doc today. he drew blood and said that if my white count is too high he is going to admit me. he also said that if i get dehydrated again he is going to admit me. no one knows what this is. a lot of shots in the dark, but so far they are just labelling me as acute tonsilitis. its frustrating. the pain is worse today, and i am just tired. i haven't eatin really anything for the past 4 days. and i have barely had anything to drink. yesterday was a good day drink and broth wise. but today it is back to barely being able to swallow my own spit. so this doc is going to watch me, and decide what to do depending on what my blood panel says.

I really appreciate all of the warm wishes I have gotten from you all. I prolly sound like such a baby, but I am glad to have a place like this to bitch and moan. this is hard, and i love all the messages about the prayers that are being said for me. thank you so much.

Amy

You do NOT sound like a baby to me. I remember how bad I felt, and I only had an issue on one side. It's really just a horrible horrible feeling.

I am very carefully doing a happy dance this morning. Last night my pain started to subside around 9pm. I was so thrilled. I painfully and carefully ate about a 1/4 of mashed potatoes that had been thinned down with some milk. It was HEAVEN!!! Just to have food in my stomach was an amazing feeling. And I actually slept through till it was time for my next pill. This morning I woke up, and whilst still in quite a good deal of pain, I am very much improved!! My swallowing a sip of Water does not send my body into convulsions from my "all over wince" and I am not sitting here doing nothing but crying. DH had to get back to work today. bless him he has taken so much time out of work to help me with this. It is hard cause i am trying to not just yell after the kids for stuff. But they know what is going on and they seem to be on their best behaviors.

So I think I am going to have the doctor refill my percoset prescription just for another couple of days. When I am not on it I am still in a severe amount of pain. But with them I think I might be able to eat 3 whole meals today. I actually drank all of my required Water last night. LOL And I still haven't peed yet today. Can we say dehydrated?? LOL

Duh...I just NOW saw this tread.:faint:Anyway, you know we're praying for you over here at our house. I do hope they take your tonsils out. Have your tried yogurt? The acidophilus may be helpful since you've been on the antibiotics.

No biker, this is not the correct thread. What you need to do is go to the Doctor forum from the main page, and start a thread, or post this question in a thread related to this particular doctor. I know that there are many threads about this particular doctor.

:) Good luck

Glad you're on the mend...because of your thread I finally took all 4 of my kids to the Dr today -- all 4 have strep! Nowhere as complicated as yours or I would have been at the Er too, but now we all have the pink med and hopefully that'll do it! You get better!

Amy--

I was thinking that anything w/ ecchinacea helps too!! Ecchinacea is an old time anesthetic....so I buy "herbon" which are cough drops w/ 250mg of ecchinacea....they TRULY numb the throat and make me pain free!!! Maybe they would help????

God Bless and saying prayers!!!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
