Anna,

I will be there on the 25th for Pre op testing so I will check in on ya if I can to see how you are. I know you will do well. Then I will be back on April 5th for my big day. I really dont look at mine as getting the sleeve but getting this "BLEEPING"(cant really use the word i want to) band out of me.

Teresa

I think I am getting all my testing done with the group that will be having surgery on the 26th so I will be there at 1pm. I just live so close that I am getting my stuff done a week before so I will not have to come the day before surgery which would be Easter Sunday so I will just show up on the morning of the 5th.

So yeah we will get to meet and see how Anna is doing together.

Yes! I am so excited. Now if I could judy stop second guessing my decision. Have you done this? I keep on thinking if I just try once more before surgery. LOL Like it has ever worked before. I am sure that everything is going to be fine and we are going to love our new life.

I did a few weeks ago, I lost eight pounds in a week and went, wait! I don't need surgery I've got this, but a little further out I've realized, yeah, I can do this but I need the tool of the sleeve to have LONG term success. We've tried it all and there is no shame in needing help, the shame would be to let more and more time lapse letting our hearts become more unhealthy, our joints hurt more, etc etc. We can do this and it will be worth it!!!!

April 5th really will be here in not time! It is all so very exciting. Before when I was reading posts it seemed like something "they" did but I never imagined finally being in the position to be changing my own life!!! Plus you got that great head start with the band...well we say great and band in the same sentence, but you know what I mean!

I do know what you mean. The lap band for the first year was great. I have lost over 80lbs and that has been great for me. I am a lot healthier then before and love the gym. I am just ready to be normal. No more PBing no more pain no more fill unfill fill unfill. I am just excited to get it over and done with and move on. Cant wait to meet ya.

3 more days and I just can't wait! I got on my friend's scale last night I believe I'm down another 6 lbs. I'll find out officially tomorrow when I go see Dr Stephens one more time before surgery on Thursday. I'm so ready for this life changing experience. I wonder what I'll look like as a skinny person??

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
