Surgery scheduled for 04/09...anyone else?

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I'm scheduled for surgery on 04/09 with Dr Almanza in Tijuana...is anyone else going? I would love to meet someone on this forum that will be there around that time.

Question: My sister is going with me, what would she be doing for those 3 days...will she be bored? will I be so out of it to keep her company? If someone traveled with you, what did they while you were recovering?

I just realized this afternoon that my date is a bit over three weeks...it is starting to be so real now!

Anyone else for 04/09? Would love to get to know someone else doing it around the same time so we can be supportive to each other. Please let me know!

I am scheduled for 4/8 in San Francisco so I will be the day after you.

Mexico is a wonderful place to go and I'm sure your sister will not be bored.

But hopefully your sister is really there for you and will be available for you after. To take care of you and make sure you have everything. My sister would never do that for me..so you're lucky. I won't tell her I am having surgery because she won't be supportive...just tell me scary stories...

My husband is my big support. Anyway let me know how things are going.

It freaks me out that it will all happen in three weeks.

I'm glad to meet someone else that will be there around the same time. I just registered with obesityhelp.com and they have a Mexico Forum....There's another person that will be there the same day as you and another one that will be there the next day. So many Dr. Almanza patients there and they all have great things to say about him, check it out!

Liz

What is your name? So I'll know to look for you!

Lizzie,

My Brother went to Mexicali with me for my surgery and he found

things to do. He did help me when I needed him but I was not really

out of it and did not have any problems with sickness. He got with

other relatives of patients and they would go eat together and walk

around to see what was around the Hospital.

Good luck with your journey.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
