i'm on mushies and havn't tried anything solid yet,

but i have read a couple of threads where chicken or an omelette can make some people very uncomfortable.

are there more "problem foods" except omelette and chicken?

You never know what'll be a problem food until you try it. I haven't had issues with either eggs or chicken. Well, one of the two times I got sick with eating was with eggs, BUT it wasn't the eggs themselves, it was because I was eating too fast without thinking about it. All you can do is try stuff and see what happens, really.

I could eat cooked chicken (really, really cooked and then blended with mayo). I was actually told not to do eggs at all during mushies. I made a lot of broccoli Soups, squash Soup and cream of chicken Soups. Mushies don't last long in the big scheme of things. Just make sure you get your Water and Protein in!! I actually put powdered milk in all my cream and cheese soups just to up the Protein content and it doesn't affect the taste at all. It does get a lot easier!!!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
