700 sleeves and no leaks

Recommended Posts

For the record, there is not one person on this board who feels they did not get great care at the hospital in Mexicali and by Dr. Aceves and Dr. Campos. More than half the people on this board have gone there, and I think that speaks volumes. Every single one of us keeps recommending them over and over.

for whomever asked about price, there is an 800# on the side of this board with Dr. Aceves' number on it. I do know they charge a little bit less in the summer because it's so hot in Mexicali so they run a special.

If you have a band, it's a little bit more expensive to have the band removed and have sleeve surgery done.

I too am another satisifed patient of Dr. Aceves. I had my surgery the same time as CYates. My fiance, Beardeditalian had his one month after me, he was so impressed with Dr. Aceves, his staff and the care and testing I received. We would go back to him in a heartbeat - in fact, I may have to have my gallbladder out and have tossed the idea around of having Dr. Aceves do it ... only thing is, my insurance will cover it here in the US so it wouldn't be cost effective to travel to Mexicali; however, if that weren't the issue, I'd go to Dr. Aceves without hestitation - I know I won't get the same great care here in the US as I got in Mexico. I have worked in a law firm doing med mal insurance - both defense and plaintiff and I see all the things that can go wrong, along with the carelessness and lack of caring of the hospital staff.

I had my sleeve sugery with Dr. Aceves and Dr. Campos on March 1 and would recommend them most certainly. My hospital experience was wonderful, much better than anything I've ever had in Canada or the US. Dr. Aceves and Dr. Campos were both just fantastic as was all the staff, and the hospital Almater is super-clean.

You can't put a price on your safety and when you have surgery you are so vulnerable. I think people who go to lesser facilities and less qualified physicians to save money over look this fact, unfortunately often to their detriment.

Dr. Aceves has now done over 900 surgeries with no leaks!! I paid $8750 for my sleeve and it was worth every dollar! He is such a great surgeon and a great guy as well. He told me that when he is not in surgery and away from the practice he feels "lost" This is definetly his calling and he says over and over I stand on my own two feet and that his reputation may be great but if you want to hear his faults just ask his wife. lol I cracked up when he said that because no one person is perfect but he is an amazing surgeon. I had my surgery on March 18th, I had great care, the facility was beautiful and I came home with energy and no need for pain meds. I love Dr. Aceves!

Just another echo here for Dr. Aceves!!! I was in the hospital the same timeframe has Julester and fell in love w him!!!

I have worked in a various hospital leadership positions and without question found this hospital to be the best

staff in terms of care, service and experience!!! When can anyone say that the actually enjoyed a hospitalization experience? Well, until

I me Dr A., I can fully and equicovally say "I enjoyed every minute!!!" I would recommend him in a heart beat!!!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
