Bad experience with Cod

Recommended Posts

So, I had cod tonight at a restaurant with friends. It seemed to be going down really well, but I still made sure to eat it slowly. About 25 minutes into the meal, I started slimming terribly. I excused myself and went to the restroom. Then, I had a short bout of vomiting. Within 10 minutes I was fine.

I was so upset. What happened????

Ok no matter how GROSS it is, someone PLEASE give me the FULL definition of "slimming!!" I see it sometimes..and I have an idea....but still unclear...Please...

Overproduction of salivia in your mouth. You know after you go out drinking a bunch one night, forget to drink some Water when you get home, maybe stop off at IHOP or Denny's on the way home for a Rooty Tooty Freshy and Fruity Breakfast at 3am, then you wake up with that funky feeling like something isn't right, then you kind start making a bunch of spit, then your jaw kind trembles, and you know that the fresh and fruity is coming back for a replay? That's what the sliming is similar to. It's a sign that sometimes food isn't going to stay down, or the food is not going to agree with the sleeve, you can also get it if you eat too fast, or do not chew solid food well enough before swallowing.

It was battered and deep fried. But I removed all the batter and just ate the flaky fish inside. :(

It was very odd ... I don't feel like I ate it any differently than anything else I have tried. Maybe I will just stay away from fish for a while and try again in a few week.s

Ewwwwww is right!

I still can't eat anything deep-fried. If I have to pan-sear anything here at the house, it has to be pan-seared in extra extra light olive oil. If I eat anything fried, even with pulling off the batter, I get instant cramping and discomfort. I've eaten a couple of french fries from Caysen's order, but oh how it hurt. So, I just steer clear of fried stuff.

Yesterday, at lunch I ordered a Chimichanga, but this restaraunt uses light canola oil to fry their food ( I seriously asked the server to find out) they tout their menu as healthier, anyways, I ate a little bit of the outer tortilla, and still didn't feel all that fabulous.

Hmmmm ... I must be honest and say that I've had a few french fries and no issues. I guess it could have been the deep fryer, but the fish didn't seem oily at all. Lesson learned - it will be a while before I try THAT again!

The first time I nibbled on a chicken nugget I was okay, and I just realized I can eat those snack size mashed potato bowls from KFC with the little fried popcorn chicken. I haven't had any issues with the snack bowl, maybe the carbs and gravy hide the grease LOL. It's weird going through this entire journey. I ate a pickle with lunch today, no skin, and here I am an hour later burping up pickle. I'm just about ready to give up on pickles.

YES YES and more YES ! ! !

I can eat hearty, thick, rough lettuce, fresh spinach, but if I take one bite of romaine or iceberg it's coming back up. I still don't eat corn, or carrots.

so glad that I read this.

My boss went out fishing and caught a bunch of Trout.

I was going to take some home and cook it tonight.

Maybe I still will for the kids but I dont think I will be trying it yet.

The puzzle is starting to reveal itself ... it may be a stomach bug. My husband is having some issues and my youngest son was sent home early from school with tummy issues. My stomach has been a bit upset today as well.

I can't believe I'm hoping for a stomach bug!!!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
