I would like to say hello to all. I was banded on February 17,2005. I weighed in at 268lbs. I now weigh 145lbs today. Thank God!!! I have had my ups and downs with drinking Water but I have learned that when my band wasnt as tight and I had less restriction I drank considerably more. Drinking more water gives me more energy and my skin looks better and I feel better, so try really hard to drink up it makes a huge difference.

I have the same problem with anything I drink since getting my band too. It has to be room temperature, absolutely no ice, or it just plain hurts going down. I wonder why?

I *try* to get in 2.5 ltrs (4 600ml bottles) But usually only get in three.

I also drink 3 or 4 mugs of lemon and lime herb tea.

I drink at least 64oz of Water and the doctor just told me that I need to drink more. So more it is. I think I will by stock in bathrooms because I am always in them

I bought a 2 1/2 quart Water bottle like people keep in their refrigerators and fill it each evening before I leave work (I like it at room temp). Then I fill the glass on my desk and try to drink a glass every hour or whenever I think about it. I don't usually have trouble getting it all in during the day, and then I drink in the evening some, too. My skin looks better than it ever has and I have gotten accustomed to the Water intake so that I no longer have to run to the bathroom every 15 minutes.

I have found a way to make sure I get in more than enough Water. I have five water bottles (walmart .97) I fill them half way with water at night and put them in a freezer. Then the next day when I am thursty I get one out a fill it with water. This way I always have ice cold water. I will not drink any other drink (except coffee 1st thing) until I drink all my water, then I will have Decaf unsweet tea or crystal light. My kids also have there own water bottles and they have done great I fill their's and out in the fridge, so now I'm not making 20 glasses a day for them. They never complain and alway drink water now!!!

Pre-band I drank 180+ ounces per day. A lot of that was because I was a "chugger" and could down a 36 oz glass w/o thinking twice (or stopping!).

Now I drink about 80 oz. That's just plain old ice Water. I do drink more fluids overall though. Every morning when I get to work I brew either a cup of Citron tea w/ a cinnamon stick, or plain old lipton Decaf that I ice down.

I still have a Protein drink most days, not because I need it for the Protein levels but because I enjoy them and they're not hurting me. I make them with fat free Carb Countdown milk, which is the closest to "milk" I've had to drink since I was about 14 and swore the stuff off.

Also most nights I enjoy a cup or two of low carb apple juice (6g per 8 oz) on ice... depending on what my carb count is for the day. Since most of my protein preferences are at 0 gm and I try to stay right at 20 per day, I use the juice to help get my count up.

Occasionally I will have a few drinks of crystal light, but that's few and far between - kinda lost my taste for it post-op.

I drink 100+ oz. of Water a day. I drink at least 48 oz. before I eat lunch, then at least 24 between lunch & workout, at least 24 between workout and dinner. Plus some after dinner. I occasionally drink crystal light, but it's very rare. I just prefer the taste of water. CL doesnt seem to quench my thirst. I basically drink only water all day long, except I have 1 cup of coffee 3-5 times a week.

I didn't really drink Water pre-band, but since then I do and find that I crave water a LOT more than I did before I started drinking it. Go figure.

I don't drink much of anything at all. You could add everything I drink all week and if it came to 80 ozs I'd be surprised. I know this is not healthy for me at all. I have tried everything under the sun that I can think of, but nothing works. I just don't get thirsty. I know this is hard on all parts of my body. I normally go to the bathroom when I get up in the morning and when I get home from work.....unless I have a cup of coffee, then I'll go around lunch time. As far as BM's, well if I could go once a week I'd have a party, but usually its once every couple of weeks. I am on daily medication for that, and I know that drinking more Water will help. Oh did I mention that I can't get enough salt? You'd think with the salt that I add to my food, I'd be extemely thirsty all the time. I have another dr's appt next month for some more tests, and I'm really trying to make myself drink more water, or more anything!!!!

does anyone drink from "sports" bottles (water)? When I had my orientation before the surgery the nurse told me that you get too much air when you drink from Water bottles with spouts- she said only drink from the ones with open mouths. I kinda miss the sport top so I wondered if anyone else has had good or bad experiences with this?

And, how do you post a new question? I had to post this on another thread because I don't know how to create a new one.... Thanks!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
