Lynda, Mary and Denosia

Thank you all for thinking of me and wishing me well. I'm very excited.

I've spent all night talking to so many friends that called to wish me well.

Everything is set and done. The comfy sofa bed is made up for me for when I get home in case I want to sleep in the living room so I can watch Tivo to entertain me. There's really nothing left to do.

I finished a light dinner before 6pm, then went down to walk on the treadmill for awhile. I kept thinking.... Last Chance Workout! The reality is that what I was thinking about was how much easier it's going to be without 100 extra pounds.

So to everyone that's sending lovely healing energy my way. Thank you!

Wishing you the best Lee! I will be 24 hours behind you!

Altho, I have never counted "sleeps", have always done "get ups"! LOL 2 more get ups for me and it will be my turn!

Hope we are all feeling well enough to check in this weekend and compare stories!

PNW, I'll check in this weekend for sure. I've put my laptop next to my sofabed in the living room. I've set myself up with a place to sleep that has easy access to computer, Tivo and walking space. After Gallbladder surgery I found that I was more comfortable in there propped up on tons of pillows.

Be well and let me know how you and Sarah are doing!

You are so right Lee! My office at home is my hideaway : ) I will likely spend the next week cozy in my recliner - I have pillows and blankies ready!

I am taking my phone to the clinic for sure; will likely take my laptop also. I am hoping to post at least an "all done" message on Thursday night. I just don't see this as being worse, initially anyways, as my Tummy Tuck and I was home by noon and online that afternoon. Thank goodness for good drugs! haha!

I think you have about 3 more hours! Good Luck!! One more "get up" here : )

Good Morning everyone!

February 17th is finally finally almost here! Tomorrow's my day to become a Sleeve Sister! All of you have helped me figure out this journey and decided on the Sleeve. How lucky I am to have found VST. I knew I didn't want RNY and thought I wanted the Band until I came here and started reading. I feel so fortunate. So to each of you, thank you for helping me along the way.

I'm so excited. I'm visualizing the best possible outcome for my surgery and immediate recovery period. I'm visualizing no gas, no nausea, no incision pain. I figure I might as well start from the most positive aspect to create a positive experience.

My mantra leading up to surgery is "everything always works out for me, everything always works out for me, everything always works out for me!"

Maybe I'll get it together and write "my story" this afternoon.

Again, thanks friends!!

You go girl, you'll be fine??.. What a great decision you made, you are on your way to being a healthy person. I believe you wont have and problems with your surgery and no pain either, it easy as 123??.. Write and tell all of us how you are doing??

:)

You're probably snoozing, but I've been thinking of you all today. I haven't been home much today, but you're been in my heart and on my mind.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
