4 month update with pictures (as promised)

Recommended Posts

Hey Sleeve Family,

I know ive been missing in action lately but with holidays, a new job, wedding planning, working and going to school full time my time is so much shorter! I did not forget to update you all with pictures! I still love each of you, I have just been so busy- I will try to peek back in here at least once a week. I have been attending my monthly support group meetings (which I am enjoying)!

I was sleeve on 9/15/09 for those that dont know. I started out around 248 lbs, as of this morning, I weigh 188 lbs! Woo-Hoo! (The guy in the photos is my future husband). I am still about 40 lbs away from goal (I think)

I hope everyone is doing great!

Shonda,

You look great, what an inspiration. You had surgery on my birthday!! I'm scheduled for surgery on June 11th - I cannot wait!! I'll attend the seminar on April 6th!! I'm ready to get this show on the road. Watching all y'all keep me so "up" and so motivated!!! Keep up the good work, and your fiancee is a cutie!!

Shanda, you look wonderful and I agree your husband-to-be is a hottie. I too viewed lots of youtube videos - thecitydoll as well as kellawanda, fierybutterflywings, gasticsleevereviews. I found them interesting, informative and the weigh-loss visuals were inspirational. However, I will say that the friendship and support here is the best. Best of luck on you upcoming wedding and keep us posted.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
