full liquids tomorrow

Recommended Posts

Hey sistas!

A bunch of us should start full liquids tomorrow. I thought I'd just check that these are ok: What're you all having? :cursing:

yoghurt

watermelon (ooh)

canteloup

applesauce

pudding (sf)

fancy Jello

almond, rice, hemp milk (lactose intolerant)

fruit smoothies

I'm craving fruit can you tell? :sneaky2:

Ivy

I added 1/4 cup fresh papaya, blended to a fine pulp, in my Jay Robb chocolate shake. Tasted very good and my sleeve liked it. Promotes healing!

Hey Ivy,

How are you doing? I started full liquids Friday night with cream of chicken Soup mixed with Water to be safe will mix with milk next time. It took me two days to eat it, but I ate it slowly and did great. I also had a Atkins shake, drank it slowly and it was fine also. I'm back on clears today as I have an upper respiratory infection and not feeling well at all. I know I should be feeling great from the surgery but with this lingering I'm not on top of my game yet - but will be very soon! Good luck to you and I still need to get our pictures posted but have been on here very limited. Will PM you once they are posted.

I had a 1/4 cup watermelon...chewed it really really well and it went down fine. Tasted deeee-licious. I couldn't find any papaya, we're too far north for real fruit. I hope by Xmas I can have mandarin oranges.

I hope you're taking care of yourself, those dang colds can knock a person for a loop. Lots of chicken soup! Do you like those Atkins shakes? Several people have told me they're yummy, they're just expensive.

Ivy

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
