Boy, 9, turns in $100 bill he finds at school

LAKEVIEW, Mich. -- Jared Nadeau knew what he had to do after finding a crinkled $100 bill on the ground at school. He turned in the money.

"I didn't want to just take it and run away with it," the 9-year-old said. "I knew it was somebody's."

The $100 bill belonged to Genean Bolen, 31, of Lakeview. She had lost it while at Lakeview Middle School to watch her daughter play in a band concert, The Daily News of Greenville reported Monday.

After the show, Bolen went to buy gasoline for her car but discovered that the money had fallen out of a pocket.

She quickly drove back to the school, where she learned that Jared had turned in the cash. She gave a $20 reward to the boy, whose grandmother later matched it with another $20.

"I don't think there are a lot of people out there that would do what he did," Bolen said.

How many kids do you know these days that would do the same thing? I just had to share this story!

Good for him.

Recently here, someone dropped $10,000 in an envelope on the street and a guy (relatively young, early 20's, so not an age where you'd think honesty was a top priority) handed it in. I'm not sure I could have been so honest, when I think what my family could do with $10,000 but then again, you couldnt enjoy stolen money could you?

His parents have done something right, that's for sure.

Great story. Its great when some kids have good parents that instill values into them, and then they use them. Good for that child.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
