Dub, you said:

Oh.....and I can flip a jig into an opening in the brush pile.......or skip a topwater plug under a boat dock and make it walk the dog back to the boat.................but I'm lacking any surfcasting skills and won't even try to upstage a maestro. I'd look foolish doing so. Better I know my role and take the lessons as they are offered.

My reply:

Looking foolish when surf fishing is easy to do, (remember my lost sweat pants saga?)and half the fun. But, don't worry, my friend, I will enjoy every minute of your surf fishing debut. :) :) :)

PS: -----I'll be gentle. ;)

Went to the dreaded Maccas the other day and my husband had a Big Mac, which was previously my burger of choice, and I have craved one since surgery. Well I had a bite of his, and all I could think was "yuck it is so sweet" I never thought that would be me, I loved them! Not sorry that this craving has been well and truly CRUSHED!

Also have zero interest in carbonated drinks, and I used to love my Coke Zero!

Loving trying on clothes in clothing stores that I have never ventured into before. Lady asked me today if I had a loyalty card, and I laughed and said no I have never fitted into these sizes! Still have a long way to go but am loving these feelings.

Great feelings, people used to say nothing tastes as good as being skinny feels and it is only not that I really get it!

Wearing an XL shirt today and this will be the last day I wear these size 18 pants as they are falling off and have no belt loops. Time to shop in my closet again this weekend!!

I returned to work today. I put on pants for the 1st time since surgery (I've been wearing dresses and sweat pants for the past 4 weeks). They were wayyyyy too big! I tried on another pair. TOO BIG! I decided to try on a pair that I couldn't get past my hips 2 months ago. TOO BIG! Finally, I tried on a pair that I couldn't get past my thighs 2 months ago. THEY FIT! Better yet, the waist already has room to spare.

Looks like I'll be wearing dresses until it gets too cold, and then it'll be time to shop! :D :D :D :D :D

Day 4 and already had to tighten my belt up a notch.

And so it begins....................................

I saved the belt I was wearing at the time of surgery. Every now and again I'll take it hold it up and laugh my arse off.

And your off to the races now. Clothes are good frustration to have.

You are gonna have fun shopping when you deem the timing right.

That is awesome. Feels good to retire stuff because it's too big.

Great experiences right there.

I'll probably be out there looking goofy like Kramer from the Sienfeld show.

This week I hit the 1 year mark. I already am well aware of the weight lost but realized I hadn't done measurements since the end of February, life got just got crazy.

I am blown away by the fact that I have lost a total of 41 inches. "Only" 68lbs, but WOW...41 freaking inches!! So glad to heed the advice and take measurements pre-op!!

I love how rarely I have to clean the kitchen and run the dishwasher!

Seriously, my kitchen stays spotless because I'm using it so little.

I also produce way less trash!

As for a lil' background info, my heart suckeths. Had first heart attack at 37 (stents), artery RCA collapsed 2 of the stents (more stents), Internal Cardiac Device implanted (ICD pacemaker/defibulator), forced to retire (was a Deputy Sheriff), second heart attack at 39 (more stents), umpteen caths (and a few more stents). Been on the list for a transplant for some time. Decided on the Gastric Sleeve after my Heart Failure Specialist said that loosing weight would help me move up on the list, in addition to numerous other benefits. Had the procedure on 05/26/16, in total down 82lbs. so far.

Have been using my nitro quite a bit more the past few months, seems to go in cycles. My doc advised that I had not had a cath since 2014, and felt it best that they go in a check. All my previous stent placements had been in the RCA (which is pretty much a solid line of stents by this time). They found 2 additional blockages in different areas this time (2 more stents).

Now for the NSV part... I have several tats. Two different nurses commented on the tats and said that they thought they recognized them (the John Lennon one in particular). When I told them that I was a frequent flier at OSU, both asked if I had lost quite a bit of weight. Same thing happened in the Cath Lab prior to surgery with two different surgeons.

This in addition to the fact that the nurse whom gave me the obligatory belly button to knee shave being cute, definitely brightened my stay. Back home today and watching OSU and BG.

Nsv for me was going back to my hometown yesterday I'm only 12 days out but down about 50-60 from my all time high. Everywhere I went people told me how good I looked and how proud of me they were. It felt awesome and was motivating!

last night I was in my Wednesday night class, fall semester just beginning and I did something I've never been able to do in all the years I've been attending there.

there I was muddling my way through class - Bible on my lap, phone - pen, paper. juggling it all like always and all the sudden a wee lighbulb went off. WAIT A MINUTE, I am down 75 pounds since last year..... I wonder.......

I used the flip up lap desk. with a lot of room to spare! WHAT?

being more normal sized makes EVERYTHING so much easier. :D

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
