Surgery went fine- he was in and out in 31 minutes. He said that he could really tell that I worked very hard on the pre-op diet.

I'm still in a LOT of pain and having a hard time. I was dry heaving night before last. I have a LOT of nasuea, but so far no vomiting. I'm having a hard time getting my liquids in as well. Any tips for the fluids and naseau (sp?) would be greatly appreciated.

Count me in for February!

Call and ask for something for the nausea. They can give you something that comes in liquid form or there is also something that dissolves under your tongue. I'm glad that it went well. I would try some warm tea, an icee, Popsicles. Walk, that helps more than anything. Hope you feel better soon, Mandy

I'm sorry to change the subject, but I have a LOT of 2x summer clothes that are now too big (hooray!), and I'd like to pass them on to someone who can come get them. (I'm in Oak Park.) If you're interested, please email me at badmadmama@comcast.net I've been so busy with work and kids that I haven't had a chance to be online...

Thanks, Eileen

Are you going to come to the luncheon? That would be a great time to pass on the old clothes. Maybe we can also make it a clothes swap? ~Mandy

When's the luncheon? I'm way behind in my reading. We went on vacation over the holidays, and last week I had to take my daughter to college in Montana, so I'm also working long hours to catch up. The good thing...I'm down to 175!!! I was setting up my daughter's room, and needed to take off my sweatshirt, because I was getting hot - one of her shirts fit me!!!

Hello friends!

Do we have a place yet? are we thinking the same area? There's a panera there on 59 by mall - by a harlem furniture. you'd think by now i'd know this area better.

I'm for traveling to whereever.

lala - glad it went well!!

Panera is good for me. There is also a mexican place by the Jamba juice, is that any good? ~Mandy

Is the mexican restaurant chipotle or quadoba? Both are really good, but they are more of like a panera, where you pick up the food, and sit down, no waiters, not that I really care, just letting you all know. There is also a On the Border in Naperville on 59 which is an awesome Mexican restaurant so good!!!

I can't remember the name of this place, it is right next door to Jamba juice. It looked good, not a chain type place. If I think of it I'll post it. ~Mandy

If you're thinking of the Jamba juice by Kohl's - then it is a Qdoba. There is a Chipotle up the road in front of Meijer if people prefer that. I personally would choose Qdoba - they have a great vegetarian tortilla Soup.

That sounds good to me too, do they also have meatless Beans? That's the place I was thinking of. ~Mandy

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
