Glad to hear you are doing well overall. I have trouble getting in enough Protein as well. I do drink atleast 1 Protein shake a day, but I can't eat enough "mushies" to get the rest of my Protein. And I can't handle more than one or one and a half shakes a day.

The only trouble with eating mushies I've had has been eggs. I'm just ready for some more variety. I've been limited with my mushies choices. I have been feeling a little down lately...but I've got a lot going on in life right now (school starting, football, softball,etc.). Sometimes I think I try to do too much & my emotional health suffers.

All in all, my recovery is going well. Be sure to let me know how it goes tomorrow. Good luck!

I wouldn't say that I'm depressed -- I think Mac put it best -- I'm PISSY ... and as KayKay said experiencing "remorse" because of the issues I have with the spasming of my esophogus ... and I don't want it to take 6 months like Dr. Aceves said it might ... so maybe depressed was not the proper word. I have been in depression before and don't EVER EVER want to go there again-- thanks for the concern SoCal, I greatly appreciate it

And KayKay thank you for the prayers -- I will take all that you wish to offer for I know prayer definitely works! Thank you.

I feel bad for all of you who don't like the Protein drinks. There are many that I like.

I also heard from another friend that the

Chike that Mac recommends is really good.

When I start running out of some of the stuff I have, I am going to order some of that. I do believe Mac posted some links where you can get samples of it. Plus she said she tried a lot of them, and those were one of the few she could tolerate.

I really encourage people to try to find one they like. Not getting enough Protein can be the cause of being so tired, and generally not feeling well.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
