Praying for you, hon. In our own case, my husband's insurance did not cover any form of bariatric surgery, but the Lord seemed to make a way where there was no way in which we could do a self-pay for him to have the surgery. I just kept praying that if this was God's will for His life, that it would be provided for. (We were also in a position where we just couldn't see going into debt for it.)

You should be be proud of your accomplishment in already losing so much weight from your starting point. You have done a good job. It could be that you can do the rest without the surgery. I would just encourage you to look to the Lord to provide a way for you, however that would be best for your life. Try not to get discouraged!

High, I'm KayKay's husband. I just joined the forum yesterday. See my initial post where I tell my story under the name Fencepost. I encourage you not to give up. If this is important and you really want this ask God for him to provide a way for you. We will pray that he will help you. Insurance companies are changing what they will cover every day now. I just saw on a video that my insurance company has started covering the sleeve. It didn't cover mine because of a company exclusion for all weight loss surgeries, but that might not be the case for you. Job's change, situations change. Who knows how your answer might come, but don't give up. Our proyers will be with you.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
