I'm not getting my Protein in. I try and try and if I get 30 g's I'm lucky. It takes hours for me to finish my Protein drinks. I thought it would be easier when I was able to eat 'real' food but I'm not being successful at that either. I can just about get 4 - 5 small forksful of chicken salad in. Last night we went out and I ordered sashimi thinking that this would do the trick. If I got two ounces in, I'd be surprised. I'm afraid to push it because of all the bad stories so when I start to feel full I quit eating. Since it takes me so long to get the shakes in, my other liquids are falling behind.

I really want to be compliant with this program. I'm working hard at it. I am on the treadmill, I'm trying to eat, but I'm failing. I haven't lost an ounce in a week (in fact I am up .4).

Any suggestions ?

Hi RB -- Have you tried contacting Gaby?

I know I am having a very hard time getting in my Proteins - bet I don't get anywhere close to even 20 in a day; however, I'm still on fulls ... move to mushies next week and am hoping that that helps. I tried my smoothies last week -- both Atkins and one I make myself - and they were too thick for me and it takes me hours to get them down ... so I nixed that idea.

Tiffykins really likes the nectar supplements -- maybe try those? You can get in your protein and your liquids at the same time? I ordered a bunch of samples today from Vitalady.com for Bob and I ... might be worth the try?

Hang in there -- we'll get through this ... I would definitely email Gaby or Renee or Nina for suggestions too!

HUGS!

Have you tried Isopure? I heard it was awful, but if I could stomach them I'd kill two birds with one stone. I'm going to have to make a trip to GNC.

yes -- i called it isopuke like so many others - it's disgusting. I poured 2 bottles down the drain and used one for jell-o shooters - which were very tolerable -- maybe you should try that?

I know it's tough, I'm only getting in 40-45gr a day myself. I'm still on clears so my main focus per my surgeon is to stay hydrated right now.

The Syntrax nectar Proteins are not thick, and can be mixed with just Water. I can't do shakes/smoothies or anything thick. I couldn't tolerate them before surgery so I'm not going to attempt them now. With the nectar mixes, I can get in my liquids and Protein. If you haven't tried them, you may want to order some samples and give them a try. I'm super picky and I'm glad that these are working for me.

Just keep working at it, and try different things.

Isopure is horrific in my opinion, and I could not stomach it at all.

My weight didn't budge for 3 weeks so don't worry about the scale. Once you get used to solids you'll see it move down.

I have never gotten in the 60-70 grams of protein and I don't worry about it. My bloodwork is all perfect and I healed fine. I hate all the high Protein Drinks so I stick to the soy slender drinks and the Atkins Protein Bars when I need to supplement my diet.

What you can try is something WasA does; grazing. Instead of sticking to 3 meals a day, try eating every 2-3 hours. That way, you'll be able to take in more food and meet your nutritional requirements.

Elisabeth is correct, I do graze, it's my thing. ;o) But... grazers have to be extra careful of what they are grazing on. I graze on steamed veggies. A huge bowl that takes me all day to eat is 300 calories.

One can be a grazer and lose/maintain, no doubt about it. Many believe restriction alone is not good for grazers and that is not necessarily true. It all depends on what you graze on.

If you stick to NO white carb foods such as veggies and protein it's fine. But get in the habit now of the right foods to graze on or you can easily gain weight.

I know Dr. Aceves really pushes the 3 meals a day; however, right now, this early out of surgery, I am trying to get in what I can and if that turns out to be more than 3 "meals" in a day, then I'm really not too worried about it. Once I get on solids, then I will taper back to 3x a day ... or if I decide to graze, like WASa, I have no problem grazing on steamed or fresh veggies ...

I realized this morning that the one thing I really miss and am looking forward to is actually CHEWING something ... I never feel really "full" when I just drink a meal.

I'm craving vegetables so much but have to concentrate on the Proteins so it will be a while.

How about veggies with cheese sauce? Kill 2 birds with one stone so to speak? Or another type of sauce you could make that has a lot of Protein -- don't know what that would be, but sure there must be something~!

For crunchy things, I love apples with Peanut Butter on them. It's something I discovered a few months ago, but I haven't had any apples since being sleeved.

Rosebud, do you like cottage cheese? It's pretty high in Protein and should be easy to eat. You could eat a little bit a teas. here and there, and that would help on your Protein.< /strong>

I actually pureed a hard boiled egg yolk with some cottage cheese, added a bit of pepper and it actually tasted really good. It wasn't that much, but figured it was more protein that I had been getting -- I was only able to eat about 3 teaspoonfuls. Might want to try that.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
