No it wont be that bad once you get back to at least mushies.

It's up to your Dr. but the day of my surgery my Dr didn't have me do any "Clear" liquids I went straight to liquids~Cream of chicken Soup was my savior! I ate Jello, pudding and runny potato's cooked w/ chicken broth.< /span>

On mushiesI ate re fried Beans and mashed potato's and chopped beef in a blender with BBQ sauce!

Wow! You are 5 days post op and eating all those things. My Dr. had me on Clear Liquids for two weeks, then two weeks of the items you are eating, then two weeks of soft foods. I would have killed for cottage cheese 5 days out.

Hang in there, it will be over before you know it!

My doc had me on clear liq for a week thaen full liquids, like cream Soup Jello, broth, protien drinks that were not clear etc. for a week then on to mushy stuff for a week. the more solid stuff like mashed potatos and pudding cottage cheese and oatmeal. One month of restricted diet. It is worth it. I am down 24 lbs since I began this about 3 monts ago. Slow but sure, that is a good thing!!

Good luck!

You are right. I had to do Optifast for two weeks pre-op. That was hell too!

Wait, PRE-op, right? Well, when you get your band you will be totally surprised how full you will feel eating a yogurt or a 4 ounce cottage cheese. BIG difference once banded and filled properly. So hang in there. You can do this now, and you SURE can do it later!

Here's some inspiration, I hope. Tonight for dinner I just ALMOST took one bite too many. I had 1 piece of baked Tilapia fish and left about an ounce of it, I had a very small baked potato with margerine and sour cream, salt/pepper, and I had about 2 cups of salad with green pepper and onion, sprinkle crunchies and some balsamic vinigrette dressing. That's it. I'm stuffed. I'll have some coffee (brewing now) with flavored Creamer for "dessert" and I am done for the night. Stuffed! I say!!!! How cool is that? Pre-band, I'd have shoveled a large potato, several more pieces of fish, had cheese, egg, and Ranch on the salad, THEN had dessert. And I would have thought I had eaten well. NOT.

Get excited. It's worth it!

Wow, your lucky.... I wasn't allowed to eat cottage cheese until my 4th week out (I had to do liquids for 3 weeks)... hang in there.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
