A Blessing In Disguise

Recommended Posts

My wife's method was relatively simple (for her). I came home from a business trip about a year after our daughter was born. Lynn tells me I have a urologist appointment. The doctor then chlorinated the gene pool a week later.

I had a teacher in high school that referred to the pull out method as "Catholic Roulette". She was written up and we never heard that phrase again.....but those of us that heard it never forgot it.

You were nice to do that. My husband refused to so I did it at age 30. I had 2 sons and that was enough for me.

I'm thinking of going the IUD, I'm currently on he Nuvaring, while it's convenient I thinks it's caused my hair to thin, weight gain & a low laws drive .... Hoping for something w/o hormones

Stupid auto correct - I meant low sex drive

shannon.... I would think about having your GYN do a complete panel on you first. I found i had more problems with the IUD then the ring. The IUD caused excessive bleeding and cramping and it migrated down into my cervix.

The Ring, i found, helped me with my hormone problems. Your hair loss could be from the band.

Keep us posted

It's not the band, I have only had the band for 3 weeks. I've been on the ring for 8 years and my hair has been gradually thinning - I'm not on any other meds. I've had my labs checked countless times & nothing shows. But one if the side affects listed for Nuvaring is hair thinning

My husband also took one for the team and went in for a Vasectomy =) I had two c-sections so he owe'd me I figured! Plus it was probably as painful for him as a bikini wax, procedure on Friday, back to work on Monday LOL. I have a boy and girl and a dog haha.

That might explain my HEAVY period last month.

As painful as a bikini wax??? Whose beauty shop do you go to for waxing? Jeffrey Dahmer?

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
