Im leaving this forum, I have had a few people who have just made me feel like I dont belong or whatever and im not dealing with it. I thought this was a place where people support you and where I could ask all the questions in the world buy I guess not because people are making me feel like a bother so im leaving and if anyone can tell me how to delete my account or even just stop the notifications being sent to my email that would be fantastic

Because you asked about your incisions, and rather give you a BS answer we said you should check with your doctor because you can't be diagnosed over the internet? And this was somehow "rude" in your opinion?

Whatever dude. I'm not apologizing for caring enough to tell you the truth- we're not doctors and we can't answer your question..

Btw, you can't delete your account so you'll have to just stop posting.

No, you need to use a little common sense and not get your panties in a twist because you didn't get the response you hoping for. Sorry but I don't coddle people.

"Call your doctor. We're not doctors and can't diagnose you over the internet." isn't even remotely rude. If you actually think that's rude then you have issues.

i read the post you referenced as rude

having someone say call the dr is not rude..it is the right thing to do..and the person who advised you, well, i dont have to say much as you can clearly see the success.

if you want help/support, this forum can offer you that

but if in pain, doubt, concern, always refer to your doctor.

heck i could be fat elvis sitting here typing this instead

of short tanned gorgeous southern woman.

Yes, this may not be the place for you if you're offended by honest speech. I read those comments and no where did anyone say anything rude or derogatory. Some of us post quite a bit and rather than sugar coat our comments with silly words like, you poor baby, that's too bad or emoticons with smiley faces, we just say what should be said. It's up to you to attempt to read between the lines if you are inclined to do so?

I would suggest you reconsider your decision as this is the best forum to ask and receive honest opinions from bandsters who are walking the walk. It will be your loss. This is what we would call a lose/lose proposition. We can learn from you sometime in the future when you are an experienced Bandster. So I urge you to stay and make this a win/win for all of us?

I've found this Forum to be honest & helpful. But there is a new generation coming along that is being raised on praise motivation. (My grandchildren, for an example.) They get a good grade in school or etc. stars, etc.. . little ones color a picture it goes up on the refrigerator with praise, etc. Probably that works too. . . . But when they grow up I just hope their boss or supervisor is up to the task. I say to use a little bit of both. . . . but what does an old Grandma know? :o

Adios! You are overly sensitive and need to grow up. Temper tantrums don't work here.

I have been having pain myself

I did have pain of course when it was first done but then I was ok

It's been 5 weeks for me and all of a sudden I starting to getting pain and I am nervous but I am going to see my Dr next week for my first fill so I will talk to him

Just try and stay calm ( but I do understand) and try and call your Dr on Monday

Good luck

I think you hit the nail on the head with this post!!

I went back and read the "rude thread" and can't believe how sensitive some people can be. Wonder how she'd feel if we all said that pain was perfectly normal, don't be such a crybaby, and then she ended up seriously ill or dead from a horrible infection?????? DUH!!!

People crack me up that post 'leaving' messages. If you want to leave without the drama then just go. The fact that you're trying to stir **** up before you go just goes to show you that it's YOU that likes the drama. Sad. I bet this person is the same kind of person that constantly 'deletes' their Facebook only to come running back every week. Good riddance.

65% of the message content in a communication exchange is made up of nonverbal language (i.e., body language, intonation) therefore, one must understand this if they are going to participate in communicating through social media sites via the interwebs B) . This is why people take things the wrong way and think people are being rude when in all actuality they are just trying to be helpful. I'm a big fan of texting and I've had issues with people taking things the wrong way. It happens to everyone!! Except my mother who can't figure out how to text and doesn't even know how to get on the internet (how are we related??).

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I had about 6 months between deciding to do surgery and getting scheduled. I came across the book The Pound of Cure by Dr. Matthew Weiner, a bariatric surgeon in Arizona, and started to implement some of the changes he recommended (and lost 13 lbs in the process without ever feeling deprived). The book is very simple, and the focus is on whole, plant based foods, but within reason. It's not an all or nothing approach, or going vegan or something, but focuses on improvement and aiming for getting it right 80-90% of the time. His suggestions are divided into 12 sections that you can tackle over time, perhaps one per month for a year if a person is just trying to improve nutrition and build good habits. They range from things like cutting out artificial sweetener or eating more beans to eating a pound of vegetables per day. I found it really effective pre-surgery and it's an eating style I will be working to get back to as I am further out from surgery and have more capacity. Small changes you can sustain will do the most for building good habits for life.

That sounds awesome. I'll have to check that out thanks!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
