How many cc"s till you felt full?

Recommended Posts

Hi, everyone. I just got my 4th fill. I am at 10cc in a 14 band. I definitely feel full after eating a little. Much different then the other fills. I totally fell off the wagon months ago. I have my head in the right direction now. It does bother me that I have had my band almost a year and only lost 21 lbs. That's all my fault though. I didn't listen or obey the rules. Then I see people that are going on a year at 50-80 lbs lost. That could of been me!! Well I am back and I really am excited to lose this weight. I got my fill on Friday and I already lost 2 lbs! I am just curious to see at what amount of cc"s till you felt you were in the green zone?

I think 21 pounds in a year is still awesome. How much did you lose without the band?!?!?! Keeping your head right is the biggest battle. You can do it!

It's different for everyone when they reach the green zone, it seems like you are near or already there, you got the larger band, so it make take a bit longer for you.

I have a AP small 10cc band, it took about 6 fills before I felt ANYTHING...then I got my last fill of an extra .5cc and that put in into the SWEET GREEN ZONE :) .

I have to admit I had to get used to this new AP band, I was very used to my old 4cc band that had kiss @ss restriction out the gate....but I am loving how easier this new band feels on my body, softer and gentler but with good restriction.

I can't eat but a few ounces per meal and I get satisfied and the scale is finally moving along with daily walking.

Also remember, restriction ALONE will NOT move the scale for most people, most people have to sweat and walk and keep their meals mostly Proteins to see the scale move rapidly and steadily.

I have 6.9cc in my 10cc band it took about 7 months to get here.

I love my new band!

I also have a 14cc band. I felt a bit of restriction briefly at 8cc's but not as much as I thought I should have. I now have 9/5cc's think I'm in the green (providing my current restriction lasts) god luck getting back in the saddle. Don't be hard on yourself any loss is gr8 st least it isn't a gain...

What is a AP band? Thank you btw!! I do walk, for now that is all. I have a little one so I don't have a lot of time to do other stuff. :))

Hello...

I am assuming you have an AP lap band also ...as you mentioned you have the 14cc band? The AP lap bands come in two sizes:

AP small - holds up to 10cc's of saline (which can go over in some cases)

AP large - holds up to 14cc's of saline (which can go over in some cases)

http://www.lapband.com/HCP/product-description/

Btw: I know of another lap bander that had the large band and it took her 2 years to get to goal, she lost nothing in the first year, because with the big band, it took ...soooooo long before she got to the green zone.

But she is very happy now that she's lost all her weight and have had no lap band issues....

So don't give up hope, it could just mean you have not reached the green zone yet, once you get there..you will know it, weight loss will become very easy and you get satisfied very quick on very small amounts.

Good luck

I have 7.25cc's in a 10cc band. At the time of surgery, I had 3cc's. About 4 weeks post op, I was given another 3cc's. The total of 6 held me for about a month, then I got another 1cc. I was good for another month, then the last fill of .25 put me right in the green zone. I've dropped 50 pounds in six and a half months, and I'm thrilled with my success so far. I would venture to say that I'll be needing another fill before goal, but I'm very comfortable right where I'm at today.

I'm at 2.5 in a 10 and I'm in a good spot. When I eat what I am supposed to I get full after a cup of Protein and vegetables. I can still eat a bag of Doritos but that doesn't count to need a fill because they are sliding right through, no matter how tight you are.

Can't look back at how much you only lost last year. Be happy you lost something and gained nothing. Move on forward and start fresh with the Band life and you got this =)

I had some restriction right after surgery and had 2 small fills so I'm currently at 3.33cc/10cc and the surgeon thinks I'm in the green zone since I'm still losing but I'm not getting stuck all the time. It really is different for everyone. SOme people have more elastic stomachs others have more sensitive satiation responses, and finally there's the simple fact that with or without the band we each metabolize our food a little bit differently.

It's important to remember more fill doesn't automatically make it easier. At a certain point it's like trying to get better gas milage by trying to run your car on Water. The band makes nutrition and exercise more effective but it isn't actually magic.

That's encouraging because I also have the AP 10cc band and my next fill is in October. It will be my 6th or 7th fill and I'm not green yet. I'm doing well however because I'm aware of what I'm eating and having smaller portions.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
