Stuck to me is when nothing else will go down, not even saliva. It hurts like crazy and I feel like if I could let out a great big belch I'd feel better. Its not good to make yourself vomit when this happens as this can cause slippage of your band. Wait it out, chastise yourself for putting yourself in this situation, hug the toilet and spit the slime out and wait it out. Again, wait it out.

I would get restriction, lose weight, lose restriction, over and over again. I now have over 14cc in my band and keep more consistent restriction.

May i ask jst how many cc's does ur band hold if ur at 14?

And around just how many fills did the yoyo'ing u describe here finally stop?

In other words how many fills did it take before u were Green?

Hi All,

I hope someone here can give me some encouragement. I'll try to make this as concise as I possibly can. I was banded in June 2010, and lost a total of 98 lbs. I've had several fills and unfills and I know what restriction fells like. However, this past June I got stuck and I want to my doctor for a slight unfill. At that time I had about 7cc in the band. I was not able to schedule a refill untill the end of July and was given 61/2 c's. I had no restriction so when I finally got to see my doctor on Sept 13, he put in another 2 1/2 cc's.

I still have no restriction and my doctor seems to think the there could be something wrong with the band. I am hopeing that the restriction will kick in soon, because I really don't want to have another surgery. I have an 11cc band and the doctor says he does not want to fill the band any further. Any advise would be appreciated. I think if the band had not been completely unfilled, this may not have happened.

Hi. You mention your doctor seems to "think there could be something wrong with the band". Why does he think this? Did they do a Upper GI/Fill using Fluoro? When was your "complete unfil" you mention above?

I would get restriction' date=' lose weight, lose restriction, over and over again. I now have over 14cc in my band and keep more consistent restriction.[/quote']. What size is your band ? I have a 14cc band and I'm up to 12cc so I've been fretting nervous about whether I will suddenly gave no more room to fillmy band.

My unfill was in early June. At first my doctor's office said they were going to do a test to determin if there was band dialation. Then I got word the the doctor said there was no need to do the test because with 9cc's in an 11cc band and no restriction, there is something wrong with the band. they are asking me to make a decision to replace the band or go to the sleeve. Any suggestions??

My suggestion would be to find a surgeon who IS willing to do an upper GI/Fluoroscopy. That COULD easily show the issue. COULD being the key word. It did for me...easily detected why I had no restriction.

Thanks. I take it that the upper G/Fluroscopy is not the same thing as getting the fill under fouroscope. Am I right?

They call it the same in my surgeons office. I was referring to your statement about your doctor saying "there was no need to do the test". If he/she is using fluoro, my experience would be they can easily see whether you have restriction or not. It did for me, when I had an issue with my band.

I'm going in for my 3rd fill and I can't wait wait . I weighed myself and it said I lost 8 lbs within a month. The last time it was 13 lbs . I snacked so much but I have still been exercising . So I hope this will do the trick . I didn't feel much restriction from last time . Last time they did .5cc, this time I need like 1 cc completely .

Okay so I went in for my 3rd fill. Boy do I feel a difference . I had been eating too much which was causing my heartburn. No stuck episodes though . I am now at 6.5 cc with a 14 cc band . I lost 8 lbs from last month. I guess that's pretty good . I got some good tips to help me stay on the straight and narrow .

She said I probably won't be in the green zone until like 8.0 cc .

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
