First fill yesterday

Recommended Posts

Had my first fill yesterday, I was really nervous . But all went well, I recieved 5cc, is this about the norm I have done very good on the plan and specially since my banding. 60 days I have lost 6 inch in waist, went from 3xxl to 2 Xl shirt. I have dropped 38 bs in 60 day , which is a little over .5 lbs a day. I am on Clear liquids for two day, then two days of full liquids. Then off to my great adventure. My favorite food is slow cooker chicken breast in rustic Italian dressing ( fat free), retried Beans and cheese, cheese grits and of course cottage cheese.

Good look David

Hi David and congratulations on being banded. Each doctor has his/her on method of a fill. Some do less others even more. My fills were never more than 1cc. When it was, I ended up in the ER for being too tight. For your initial fill this may be sufficient but in the future I'm sure your doctor may not fill you as much. Again it depends on your amount of weight loss and how often you visit him/her. Good luck on your journey.

Had my 1st fill today, almost 7 weeks postop. He tried 3 cc and I felt like I had to burp but couldn't. He backed off to 2.5 and that sensation went away. Now, 24 hr liquids and 48 hr mushie. I've been really hungry so I hope this helps.

I'm staying away from carbs till next month but by choice....then I will and evaluate on were I'm at. The reason why I have choosen to do this is because at the moment my weight loss has been good to date and were I am on mushy and soon to be normal food , I don't want to introduce them and and then not loose or heaven forbid undo some of my weight loss ( as can happen on any diet that has no carbs). Once I've had my first fill and hopefully moving toward my green zone (???) I will reintroduce 1 at a time ...in fortnightly stages ....

Question since my first fill two days ago, I've been living on G2 and hot green tea. I can only drink 8 to 10 oz at a time and feel full and satisfied for hours at a time. I don't get the drowning effect, when I received my fill the doctor over filled my band on purpose, so I can fill what it felt like. Then he slowly removed the fill till he saw the barium moving through my band on the x ray.

I'm not hungry or anything. Is this what it suppose to feel like or is my fill to much?

Thanks

David

Hi David if after two days you aren't able to eat any solid protien you might be to tight. You can't live on gatorade and Water. You should be back to mushies by the2nd day after a fill, then regular food.< /p>

Haha! Carbs are the enemy!

On my 48hrs after my first fill i have Protein shakes AND a Wendys chocolate Frosty! Small of course.

Hey, frostys arent solids right....

Im sure its also the reason why my weight loss has been so slow, 16lbs in 6 weeks...

So weigh the risks....

And Good Luck =)

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
