Almost embarrassing....

Recommended Posts

Sooooo, don't read this if you are in happy mood, Id hate to put a dapper on your parade but...I feel horrible, I have my first fill this Friday, and I am freaking out!! I feel so nasty, like I should be embarrassed for having to HAVE to get a band, Im just feeling a little ashamed, and Im so nervous for the fill cause I really don't want it to be so crazy tight because my Dr. live about 4 hours away so appointments are hard...

yeah

Thanks, Chloe

Don't freak out and don't be embarrassed . No one needs to kno about your band and a good doctor will guide ur fills appropriately. I was banded 7/1/13 got my first fill 7/29/13,and am doing fine. The follow up fills and care from what I read makes getting the band successful. Don't let your fear of the unknown get in the way of this amazing journey to your new lifestyle .

To be honest Chloe you are in high school. Dont let this time dictate how the rest of your life will be. More than likely you will go on to college where no one knows you and be able to make a new impression! There is nothing to be ashamed of, but you don't have to let others know about your band. If people notice anything just tell them you are on a diet and trying to lose weight. I was in high school not long ago, things change so much in just a short time. Think about how thin you will be going into college ;)

If I were you, I'd be proud that you've made the hard decision to get help for your problem with obesity. It's taken me 25 years to get around to that. You're young and have made it already! How did your fill go? How are you feeling now?

Don't be embarrassed! No one outside out you, your doctor, and a couple family members have to know! You have such an advantage being so young and making the decision to become healthier (and happier!!) using the band as a tool! I'm 27, still young!, and am so happy knowing that I have my whole life ahead of me! You and I may not remember what life was like being heavy 30, 40, 50 years from now! Good luck and keep your head up!!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
