Take it slowly, you just had major surgery! Drink enough to stave off the dizziness. Try Gatorade, or some other kind of Protein mix, Special K has one to mix with Water. Try having a popcicle, too! for gas, walking is good, also Gas-x tabs that melt on your tongue are helpful.

normal when you are just 2 days post op.. sip liquids, get lots of rest, pain can be handled with liquid tylenol or pain meds as prescribed by Dr. you are probably dehydrated which makes you feel hungry.. try getting more fluids..Contact your Dr. if symptoms persist...

Banded 7-24... I am amazed how much better I feel 9 days post op. Here is what I learned... Sip sip sip even when you don't want too. Your body needs the fluids! Get in your protein.. Because it will give you the energy you're not getting from food. At first I had to use the tasteless powder to put in my Water and crystal light... Now I am getting Protein Shakes in! Walk even if it hurts! It gets the gas moving and also just generally makes you feel better! I was shocked at how well I adjusted to the hunger! I started working on things for my classroom and I learned to manage the hunger! If I can survive this liquid diet .... I can make better good choices when I can eat! Best of all...,. I learned to keep posting on here and reach out when you need help! These people are amazing and know your struggle! We will hold your hand when things get rough! God bless!

walk...walk...walk! Drink your water...plenty of it! At three days post op was making sure I got my 60 grams of Protein in! I know it sounds funny.....but I felt better when I walked. Make sure you take Tylenol between the other meds. I stopped the pain meds at day 3 with the exception of tylenol. Walking and water! You are turning the corner....Have a great day. Lisa

I was also banded July 31. Trying to balance rest with walking, breathing exercises and just moving around. Could barely eat until thus morning but feeling better all the time.

The first 48 hours were very rough, was convinced I had made a BIG mistake. But as I improve I am starting to look forward to a lighter, healthier future.

Was banded July 31st to gas pain in belly, eatting sugar free popcisles and drinking chicken broth and Water. Walking around helps gas x strips helps rest when you can that's what I do. When I get up feels like my belly is gonna drop off lol but over all I'm getting better!

I used a cane for the first 3 days post op for fear of falling. Walked when I could for short distances and just worked up a little more each day. Make sure you are getting the right amount of Protein and it will changes. Best of luck on your journey.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...
