Going to The ER

Bups, sorry you're not feeling well. I have something called Sarcoid Disease, which are nodules on my right lung that sometimes make it hard to breathe so I know how frightening that could be. How on Earth did your lung get scarred?

Thanks Decarla. I'm sorry you have that. I have read about it before.

I have no idea how it got there, but it's freaking me out. I have a phobia about not being able to breathe and I hope I don't have some progressive lung problem.

I worked for years in a cocktail lounge so I wonder if that is it? I also have very bad bronchitis one year as well.

We do have new neighbors that moved into the apartment downstairs and they are heavy smokers. The smoke comes into our apartment and I have had to places fans, filters around and towels at the doors to block it out.

I had the same exact problem. I was hospitalized with a mild/moder case of Lt upper lobe pneumonia. It hurt so bad. I was put on antibiotics. It tookk a few weeks ro really go way. I work in a hospital and My radiologist said it was walking pneumonia from a case of Strep throat I got a few weeks before the chest pain started.

I hope your doing better!

Hi Leenerbups - I hope you are feeling better! I feel bad that you have to deal with your downstairs neighbors! I used to smoke and now that I don't, I can't stand the smell. I hope the 2nd hand smoke isn't the cause of your problem and terrible case of bronchitis.

Best of luck to you!

Well as one of the three Amigas....you can say I was very concerned...but came in after the fact! So glad your feeling a bit better Leenerbumps!!! Can't have only 2 !!!! Also ya made me nervous....don't like these complications!! Scar tissue can come from anything....2nd hand smoke.....prior pneumonia.....asthma....anything that has aggravated the lung can leave a scar....just like on the outside. I don't think it will spread or cause problems if it's a scar. Just my humble opinion!

God Bless,

Melody

Leenerbups,

Well..."Amigo" so glad to hear you're ok. What's your weight loss these days? I think I still eat too fast when I'm stressed or not actually sitting down with a timer.

Me too. I still find I eat too fast and then get that ache in my left shoulder.

I have not lost any more weight in a month. Doctor want me to wait and see if the weight does not start to budge again before getting a fill.

Does anyone know what exactly causes the shoulder pain? I mean I know the eating too fast or getting too full causes it but what physical thing causes it? Is our band somehow connected to a ligament of muscle there?

I was told by the facilitator for Dr. Kuri that the left shoulder pain is related to gas. When I get it I put a heating pad on it and it goes away pretty quick.

From what I have learned, the nerve related to the stomach refers to the left shoulder (the gallbladder to the right shoulder)

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
