Where did you notice the loss first?

Recommended Posts

So, scale aside, what are some of the places you first noticed your weight-loss? Here's what I noticed first:

My calves got thinner

My face

And my upper arms (biceps)

Just recently I noticed my bra seemed a bit large. Sure enough, "the girls" have shrank significantly (thank God).

I really want to see more in my waist and hips now!

Tell me yours! I thought it was weird to lose in my calves first...haha!

I lost weight is my belly, "manboobie", face and funny enough in my "back-boobs"... I've lost weight in the past many times but never in my upper back !

I found the inches came off really fast with the lapband.

Tom, Toronto

Banded July 6 06

Wt. Loss: 160 lbs

It is always nice to lose the "manboobie" and "back-boobs"! I've noticed a few changes on my back as well. Always nice to notice those things!

My waist was the first to go. People noticed my face too, but I don't see it.

The place I notice it most of all is in the airplane.....all the seats on those planes sure are getting larger lately :-)

Ohhh, you meant on me.........My wife says she notices it most in my face and neck. I notice it in my belt. I had to keep closing it one more notch each week, to the point where I had to buy a new smaller belt. Now that new belt is one notch away from being too big too.

I'm noticing it everywhere, but what I'm most surprised about is how small my wrists/forearms and ankles are. I guess being (really) fat meant I was retaining A LOT of Fluid.< /p>

My tushie and legs, thighs but can't get rid of belly. Pants sizes are not the same as when I weighed this weight several years ago. PA says it might be because of scar tissue from previous abdominal surgeries since 2006. He said I might have to have more surgery to remove the scar tissue. UGH! Manboobies are gross and may need uplift there too. UGH!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
