Had my second fill and the experience was so different from the first one.I got 1.8cc's and I feel kind of sore around the port area. The Dr didn't numb me enough the first time and had to inject me a second time , then he finally filled me and now im just sore.Dr asked me to drink Water and it went down slowly , felt like it was stuck in my upper chest area., then had to finish the rest of the water before I could leave the office.

I've had 8 adjustments(fill/unfill) and my doc has never anesthetized my skin. If they push hard on the port it could have just bruised the skin?

I had my first fill this week and my doctor tried 3 cc. He had me drink small sips of Water too. I had terrible chest pain and he said the band was too full at this time and removed one cc or whatever amount it took until I got relief from the pain. I go back in two weeks for another fill. I hope you don't continue to have pain. I would like to know how you do with food!

Both of my fills were done by the nurse, and I wasn't anesthetized for either. Actually, I've never heard of it. She just plunks the needle right in, and it's over. Wouldn't anesthetizing the skin be TWO needles? Kind of doesn't make sense in this particular procedure.

3 days postoperative I had to have all of my Fluid taken out. I was still bruised and tender from surg and they didn't anesthetize. I'm a nurse and access a lot of ports. We rarely anesthesize. We do have a cream we use on kids with ports but I find that they do just as we'll without it too.

I get anesthetized for my fills. When I get anesthetized it is barely a prick, so I'm glad they do it I'm assuming it would hurt worse if they did not and I don't want to find out. I just had my second fill and all went ok, don't know about the restriction yet.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
