Personal preference, but I buy smaller clothes as soon as I can. I shop the sales just picked up 4 pair of dress slacks for 22.00 each. My scale is plateaued right now and I find that being able to fit into the next size down is so much more real to me than just seeing a number on a measuring tape.

I don't buy expensive stuff,,,that why I can give them to a friend of mine who had surg with me,,she's a size or 2 bigger than me,,,so it's a win win all the way!!!

Well I'm cheap but I did buy clothes every couple of sizes I dropped. They were just too big falling off my arms and my waist. I actually had pants to fall off my rear once at work lol that's when I was like never again. I shop at Walmart's $3-$7 clearance rack and fallas peredes.

One thing I have done as I lost weigh is always got rid of the too big cloths, didn't want anything I could go back to! I started in a 7x I now wear misses 16 bottoms and 14 tops, I sort of went crazy shopping when I could get into regular sizes, it was like a whole new world opening up to me. But now that I'm going to get banded I plan on making do as long as I can. These I will most likely take in my clothing where I can, but not there yet. Congratulations on the fantastic job you are doing, and by all means treat yourself to something fun!

You make me laugh when I think about my son. He was losing after his banding and asked to get a suit tailored' date=' and the tailor said that it was way too much to take in, it would not look good. Hurtful when he had paid 1000.00 for the suit! Best of luck to you who are hoping for tailoring![/quote']

Tell your son not to fret! He can find an organization that provides business attire to unemployed, homeless people :)

I'm sure someone will be BLESSED by his "misfortune"

I hadn't planned on buying anything expensive. I was just trying to an idea of when everyone started buying new clothes. I also realized and that in the title an r is in clothes. lol that's that fast typing. I'm down 70lbs and still fitting some of my clothes well.I also shop at cheap stores like dots and Walmart. I might wait to buy myself an outfit when I make it to my first goal of being 299.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.
