Hello Everyone

Today I am 5 weeks post op and I am very pleased with the results. I had my first fill today and the process was very easy. I am now in the 200's for the first time in quite a few years. I weighed in at the doctors office at 299 pounds or a loss of 52 pounds. I am one third of the way to my goals. What I am most pleased I have been able to eat all of my favorite foods albeit in much smaller quantities. I would definitely do it all over again. It takes a lot of work, and you have to want to succeed, but it does work. Thank you to everyone on the message board for all of your postings. It certainly has been helpful to my journey.

Hello Everyone, just to clarify I have lost the 52 pounds after 8 weeks (5 weeks post op and a 3 week liquid diet). The weight loss was almost even during these 2 phases. As for the fill I would equate the feeling of the needle to a prick you get on your finger for a blood test. Nothing more than that.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
