How do I lose the last 20 pounds? I've been doing this for 3 years. I wouldn't change my journey this is the best decision I made for my health. I just can't get those last 20 pounds off. Watching what I eat exercising, getting the adjustment but I still can't lose the last 20 times. I'm frustrated.

Hard to advise since no one knows what you've done so far to not lose?

I'm about 25 lbs away from my goal weight and it's hard, and it's been the same for one year. I know for me, I'll have to hit it hard for 4 months with many/mostly extreme low calorie days and 5-6 days a week of hard biking and/or other exercising(hours and hours). I know I can do it, I'm just finding it difficult to make the commitment?

Seems like every other week it's a party here, a birthday there, relatives in town for a week and they eat like pigs. So many distractions, it's very difficult.

So, if you can clear your calendar, commit to maybe 1000 cal/day and work out an average of 6-10 hours a week, you should be able to do it? imo

Not knowing your stats could it be that at least 10lbs of that could be excess skin from your weight loss? I know of several successful banders that had various degrees of skin removal surgery, lifts etc that easily accounted for between 10-20lbs depending on the persons body

Is the goal weight realistic for your body type and age?

Update your profile. Without knowing where you are and where you have been advice would be shot in the dark!

I would suggest a couple of things:

1. weigh/measure your food. Your eyes are not that good at sizes (at least mine aren't).

2. log everything you put in your mouth

3. log your exercise

4. log your Water intake

This will show you where you need to change. chances are you are eating more calories that you think....

Remember Protein first, then veggies, then carbs. Are you doing this?

Loosing those last few pounds is extremely hard and frustrating. Just don't give up! It will be worth it!!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
