Well I've been trying to avoid getting on the scales everyday but after yesterday's 1 1/2lb loss I got on again this morning (I think just to make sure the loss was still there lol) and I was down another 2lbs! What is that all about?!?! It's like my body finally realized that's its not being starved and can let go of some fat!!!

How is everyone doing??

UPDATE ABOUT ME!

I am about to start my 4 weeks of post op. I feel WONDERFUL, I'm at about 25 lbs down so far.

I have zero appetite and can only eat exactly 1 cup of food before i start to feel an internal "stretching or tightness" ( my cue to stop) Usually eating 3-4 cups a day

the areas around my incisions are EXTREMELY itchy!!! but i healed up great!!

Sometimes i have a little pain when i sleep on my stomach and this morning was the first morning where i couldn't eat solids ( felt pretty tight) wore off by lunch!!

But other than that i feel pretty good!! no bandster hell ((i got VERY lucky))

I remember the itching!! Mine itched for a while too but all good now! I'm eating about 3 cups a day as well (1 at each meal) and like you, anymore than that and I feel soooo uncomfortable! I get a feeling of tightness and needing to burp which are my cues to stop. I'm banded six weeks now and have lost 38.5lbs. I have had two stuck episodes (aghhh they are the worst) probably because I'm still learning to chew slow lol. The second time I was able to being the food up which helped right away. Sounds like you have been lucky, but also that you are working really hard toward your goal so well done! Have you had your first fill yet?

Cwinkler it really sounds like you are in the green zone!! My doc says I will have very little appetite and interest in food when I'm in the green zone. You might be one of the lucky ones that never needs a fill!! :)

When is your first fill Donna?

It is scheduled for 10-2. But as of yesterday I started getting gas like pains. HURT!!!! I have thrown up 5-6x this past week. Not sure if it's food, fullness, or whatever. But I'm worried. Calling the doc this morn.

I read some other posts and not eating meat is not unusual.. I had fish last night and it went down fine except ate too much had to throw up some. I've got to learn to eat slower chew more and stop eating as soon as I start feeling full. It's hard for me, but pain near port and under left breast and collarbone is horrible. I'll let u know what the doc says.

I just finished talking with the doc assistant nurse and she said the pain is the result of swelling and inflamation caused by my throwing up. So back on liquids for next two or three days.

Well that's good news! Swelling will go down and doesn't cause any damage. Can they explain why you were throwing up in the first place?

Best guess....chicken breast....not chewing good....over fill....I did all three several times over that period and now living with the severe pain near my port down and to the left underneath my left breast. I'm having full liquids but staying cimpletely away from anything substantial. If this doesn't clear up in 3 days I'm going to see the doc. Im going to stay away from chicken except maybe dark meat in a crockpot. I really have to learn the basics and stick to them when I start eating again. I guess I thought I could do my own thing. Right!!!! Thankyou for your concern.

Its hard to change a lifetime of habits.. I still catch myself taking big bites and not chewing well. Hope you're feeling better soon :)

I don't know for sure but I've heard there is a lot of indigestion and reflux. It's worth still giving your doc a call and making sure everything is ok, even if you do feel better!

I called the doc and erica said that a slippage would be symtoms of not being able to eat or drink. Alot of reflux and alot of gagging just trying to swallow. Thank the Lord I have nothing like that. She told me if I still have the pain mon to call for appt. Load off my mind. Overdid today working cleaning this and that now site hurts pretty bad took a pain pill. I'm relaxing the rest of the evening. How are u coming along?

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
