Guess who got rescheduled

Recommended Posts

My surgery date was set for 7/2/13

Went to my preop appt today and was rescheduled because I was drinking the wrong Protein shakes (Atkins) and went on vacation last week and had Sno cones that weren't sugar free :( didn't meet the 15 pounds weight lost only lost 8. So tomorrow I have to start my diet over for 2 more weeks I'm not mad at anyone put myself for not following the list that was given to me. But I was soo mentally prepared for surgery tomorrow my new date is 7/16/2013

I know it's frustrating, but be glad he rescheduled. I've heard of others who cheated on their pre-op diet and didn't shrink their liver enough. As a result, they were wheeled into surgery and came back out with all the scars but no Lap Band because their livers were too fatty to safely complete the surgery.

So really, it's better to reschedule than to go through surgery and come out without a band.

Yea he doesn't play about the liver shrinkage he says its for my safer and I didn't argue just ready to get this over with. You have to lose a minimum of 15 pounds doing that 2 weeks diet I was the 2nd patient he did that way this week according to the coordinator

I agree with Missy.. better safe than sorry... my Dr. was serious about the pre-op diet and I was scared not to do it right... better luck this time and remember it's for your health...

You're so right I learned a lesson from trying to free style the diet and I will be following the sheet for the next 2 weeks. Week one was a breeze but week 2 was when I fell because I was on vacation which was a terrible idea in the first place

I like the premier protein..... I've been drinking those for about a year now. Better than skipping meals which I'm bad about doing.

Now I am worried because my surgery is tomorrow. I had my preop last week and he seemed happy with my six pound now seven pound weight loss. My liver can't be that bad cause I just had recent blood work done and my liver function is normal. I was on the right shakes and everything. I even used the ketosis strips to make sure I was burning

Don't be scared just follow whatever your dr tells you to do. Some are not as strict or my have a different list of preferred shakes

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
