Does this band work!??

Recommended Posts

I typically feel restriction in the morning so ill have a yogurt or Protein Shake to avoid any complications but by lunch I feel none. I made chicken salad today with carrots and celery sticks with light mayo. I brought veggie sticks ( they are kind of like chips made w veggies) as a snack bc usually I'm still really hungry after lunch. I also have 5-6 hours between lunch and dinner. I work at a summer camp for autistic children and we don't have breaks we eat with the children which is difficult. Dinner is usually chicken or fish with veggies. I will request the fluoroscopy I would like see what's going on.

I'm beginning to lose hope. I have 11cc in my 12cc band and I can still eat solids like chicken with very little restriction. I had a low bmi of 30 and I have lost 12 lbs from April when I was on liquids only and kept that off. Since then' date=' no weight loss just some gain that I recently lost with extensive exercise. I'm going to call tomorrow and see about another fill or other options. My surgeon told me my stomach is super tiny and my band needs to be super tight but I only have 1 more cc before its filled! I spent alot of money and I'm beginning to wonder if I made the right choice. With healthy food choices, I'm still over eating because I'm hungry... Anyone else having similar issues or have advice!? My dr takes the Fluid out each time and shows me to assure its all there and there is no leak![/quote']

Really you have to make it work. Just a tool! No miravle'

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
