I have NEVER felt pain like this in my life. I made the mistake of drinking some Water a little too fast and also drank a little to much.... I had the worst pain behind my chest cavity and in my belly I have ever felt in my life:omg: ... All of you new Lap Banders like myself, be very careful... DO NOT over-fill your pouch or drink to fast.. Its not worth the pain!!! ANyway, I just wantedt o share this experience so anyone else who is new like myself won't make the same mistake... Thanks for listening people

I did that on Soup. Oh boy was I sorry. I got really hot and miserably uncomfortable for about 15 minutes, it was seriously not fun. Sorry you had to go through that  I think maybe we all have to learn that one the hard way though. Life long habits are not easy to break over night.

It was so long before I finally got restriction that I had time to set up all kinds of bad habits. Gulping was the biggest! I too learned the hard way!! Hang in there!

I had a very hard time drinking Water for the first 4 weeks of band life. I hurt and burped like crazy. 7 weeks and no problems with water now.

This has been one of the hardest things for me also. I did the same thing the other day. I just swig'd away...and then go....'oh s***t!' b/c I know its going to hurt. Its really been amazing, I now notice my bad eating habits (I don't mean what I at I mean HOW I ate) since getting this band. Gulping, inhaling...I've really had to re-train (and its an ongiong training) my brain to think small, think slow. In our everyday hustle and bustle world, its hard to slow down and THINK while you are eating. I know I never did. I know how my old stomach got so stretched (my nutritionist told me that the human stomach can stretch and hold from 1 to 3 gallons of food from continual overeating..YIKES!!) ...from my mindless eating..so fast that by the time I was full the red 'full' light didn't have time to come on...lol I'm thankful that I have my little reminder band-friend to keep me in check :)

I am such a Water guzzler! I remember that the first month or two, I had to really sip, sip, sip, or I would get that pain. But it went away and I can guzzle water like before, except in the morning. I learned...

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
