(Let's call it) 5 days post-op

Recommended Posts

Packing to travel and a full schedule the rest of the day, so I'd better bang this out now.

...and a new thing - a blog. You can follow the continuing saga in blog form. Swell.

Available via my profile, I assume.

350 this morning. Net -5.2 pounds in 24 hours (-33 since May 9). Don't know whether to be thrilled or freaked. It sorta sucks being hungry all the time.

Something I am a little perplexed by is my sugar numbers.

I was taken off insulin on surgery day and was told to expect scary numbers 12 - 18 hours post-op (they went from mid-90s to 210s).

Since then, all over the place (120s-150s). I was advised not to even think about returning to insulin until, at least, my 10-day post-op check up.

Anybody got a more Enlightened viewpoint (other than my clueless spitballing)?

Off to the home town. As always, thanks.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
