mdlitchick I'm sorry you have going through insurance problems. Despite the medical field you are doing an awesome job. 70 pounds in 6 months ...can I say WOW. You must have been dedicated from day 1.

As far as the exercise, just know that you have slacked off is good. At least you are not in denial about it and you know what you have to do to continue to hae the success you are having. How much more to go until goal?

Well, I am a big gal--6 feet tall and was 395 at time of surgery--so I have a bazillion pounds to go, actually, about 100. My short-term goal, other than to incorporate more exercise in my life, is to get below 300 and I think I'm gonna make it! I haven't been below 300 since 1992.

I have been focused on this and have made it my "project" and priority for the next year or so. I keep a food diary, rarely eat junk or fast food anymore (used to eat it sometimes twice a day), and my portions are so much smaller than the gargantuan meals I used to have. I also am aggressive about getting fills and have had two so far and am contemplating another.

Thanks for asking! At the moment, I am very depressed and anxious about my financial future--I suffer from depression and this fight with the insurance company is kicking my behind--but even the medical industry can't take away what the lapband has done for me.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
