i work in a 4 story office building across the hall from us was an office who moved from the first floor to the 4th floor. this lady i use to talk to all the time in the hallway/ladies room was in that office.

she was as sweet as can be and she was my size/height me and her together resembled a football defense line up. i adored her as she was the nicest gal...since they moved upstairs, i rarely saw her anymore

today, i passed her in the hallway, she said who are you? do i know you? i said yes, its me gloria....she said what have you done to yourself?? i told her the truth, i changed from eating junk and fast foods to fresh and started walking

(i do not know her well enough to say i had surgery and frankly is no one's business) yes i had WLS to help me, but it is ME who changed what i ate and moved my body and i help the band help me eat less......so i did not fib to her.....

so she said keep it up as you look great and that she was proud of me dangumit, had to go to the bathroom and fix the face.......but it was a good reason to fix the face huh?

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
