Our first one will be June 5th. They will be the first monday's of each month @ 6:30. I would love to have some if not all of you there with me for the first one well for all of them...but I will take the first one. :) We have some good plans, guest speakers, Dr. V will be there sometimes, Q & A. It will be myself and Bobbie (one of our RN's) there to lead. I have taken some classes and I am learning so much. This will in NO way take away our monthly meeting...I love meeting you guys. I just think it will be helpful...keeping us on track. It's @ the Cornwell Center on Selwyn Ave accross from Queens college.

Hope you can make it, I will of course remind everyone again. I just wanted to put the bug in your ear now.

I should be able to attend most of the summer ones...in the fall girl scouts will start back up and I won't be able to go anymore.

I'll try is the best I can offer right now. Things are unpredictable at work, and overtime is on the horizon.

I plan on it now. I think this is great and I'm thrilled Bobbi will be there also. Don't forget Debbie.

Karen I totally understand...if you can try then that is all we can ask for. At least you will know where to find us when you need us.

Dianne I hope to see you there!!!! I am hoping we will get a few people there and see it grow. Bobbi is great...I know everyone will enjoy her.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
