Will I get a fill?

Recommended Posts

I havent had a fill for about 6 months or more now. I have been going along well with great restriction losing nice and slowly. Before my TT 7 weeks ago I started to feel my restriction waning but I wanted to have my surgery and heal before I thought about another fill. Well each week that has passed since my TT I have got hungrier and hungrier. In the last 2 weeks I have put on 2kg (5 or so lbs). I know some of it is due to not eating right but I have done this on and off throughout and still been ok. My meals have got bigger and bigger and even though I am not eating an amount near what I used to, it is still going up. I am hungry between meals again, something I havent been in the last 6 months. I am wondering if maybe the loss of 40 or so lbs and a Tummy Tuck in the last 6 months since my last fill would have made the band looser thus me needing a fill.

It worries me that I have bad reflux since 3 or so fills ago which is controlled with medication, if I have another fill will it make it worse?? You think I would know all this by now. I will talk to my Dr about it tomorrow and see what he says, but I hate these scales going up.

Another thing is I could put on 10 or more lbs before and not even feel it, since this TT 5lbs feels like 100lbs in my tummy. I am looking hugely pregnant with it and the swelling.

Ill quit blabbering now, any insight for me?

Hugs

Hey Kellie... isnt it funny that we can work with our bands for so long and then suddenly feel at a lost about a fill decision? I'm kind of going through the same dilema. I'm noticing my desire to eat more after I've finished a meal and yesterday I even ate an extra meal. I still only hit 1,100 calories but for me that's a lot.

You said you have had reflux for the past three months? That doesn't sound right. I thought the band took away the reflux problems. My doctor told me that I wouldn't have to take the meds for that anymore. Have they eyeballed your band to be sure everything's sitting well in there?

From what I've read, the band can take away reflux for folks who have it, and cause reflux for folks who don't, or make no difference at all..

I think you should talk to your doctor about the fill. It sounds like you want a fill but are worried about the reflux, which makes sense. But if the reflux is being controlled with medication, I'm not sure why it would be a problem. Good luck!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
