Annie Wilson's lapband what happened?

Recommended Posts

wow - Heart... I saw Heart at the tangerine bowl in Orlando in 1981-82 - somewhere in there - I was 110 lbs back then, thats about half my weight now. Seeing those pics in this thread just brought back alot of memories.

I think there are alot more famous people who have it done that we don't know about - like Star Jones - she insisted she didn't have bypass but never fessed up to the band.

Wow...Ann looks beautiful despite the weight gain! Thanks for the pic! And how ironic....I'm sitting here listening to XM radio and "Even It Up" just came on!

Happy 4th of July!

Yeah I heard the same thing........that Ann had her band removed and gained all her weight back.

Did the younger Judd (is it Naomi or Wynona?) have surgery. I saw her on Oprah a while back and she stated that she really wanted to lose weight but just couldn't seem to do it. I thought then that she would be a good band candidate.

Ann is still beautiful thouh, isn't she???? Hope her health is ok.

Heart is in my city today, July 4, doing a free concert at a July 4 celebration. My back problems are in full force so I cannot go. It's killing me (missing Heart, that is)!! I absolutely love them. They blazed the trail for women in rock.

I'm in Cincinnati. Heart is performing in Blue Ash, a northern suburb with apparently a pretty big budget for entertainment! Did you see the VH-1 Rock Honors concert in May? Heart was one of the inductees and they did 2 songs. I think I'll go see if it's still available for replay. I'll close my eyes and pretend I'm there--in air conditioning instead of the 91-degrees of the outdoor venue!

Hi folks,

I found this thread very interesting. I'm a big fan of Heart, and a little while ago another fan asked this same question on the message board of the Heart website. That post is no longer there (the administrators "clean" the message board regularly), but the response from one of the message board administrators was that Ann hasn't had the band removed but she also is not having it adjusted.....that the "apparatus broke" awhile back, and that Ann "no longer considers it a priority in her life". There was no commentary about complications (reflux, vocal) from the band and no commentary directly from Ann herself.

BTW I think she looks good in that picture where she's playing the flute. I saw Heart during their Brigade tour (1990 or so) and from recollection she was bigger then than she is now.

Someone was asking if there were other "celebs" that have the band...

A bandster friend recommended Khaliah Ali's (the boxer's daughter) book Fighting Weight: How I Achieved Healthy Weight Loss with "Banding," a New Procedure That Eliminates Hunger--Forever

I agree. It was a good book, although some of the info on other operations was out of date. (Seem to remember bits on DS being out of date.) My library had a gazillion copies--so I just borrowed one. One thing that ANNOYED me was how the writer used the term Water instead of saline for fills. For some reason, that really bothered me... as I found it misleading.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
